“Somehow it doesn't sound like Randy Newman at all. AUA AUA hew massive song blocks out of time rock, saw, grind and deburr, drift off and catch, bathe the senses in clear waters and hot springs, negotiate concrete and abstract stylistic blossoms of interpersonal relationships. The debut album 'Alles gut' is covered in an idiosyncratic herb of songs, pop and jazz. Now a second round is on the cards with 'Das Jüngste vom Tag' The record will be released in spring 2024 and will be performed on stage for the first time in March. The music is characterized by clear forms, heavy beats, genre quotes, associative images, narrative slow motion and key lines. AUA AUA are a pain-free collective of change from Leipzig. They make a real effort. They whistle an unwavering melody. And at the very end of the score there will be a break.”

“Whoever thinks that Krautrock no longer exists - Jan Frisch proves with his project AUA AUA that this is not the case. Alles gut” offers a crude, exciting mixture of sounds, genres, craziness and subtly cryptic lyrics, sometimes jazzy, sometimes pure (kraut) rock, then again a bit of EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN. But there is also the occasional pop singer/songwriter sound, as on the title track. The album comes across as a complete work of art, not as the sum of its parts, never boring, always demanding and challenging, scratchy, strange, ornate, unapproachable and cuddly. You have to have some space in your head to be able to appreciate all the little wonders that “Alles gut” offers, which can sometimes be quite exhausting, even painful (AUA AUA!). A unique thunderstorm of sound and thought that descends upon the listener, but doesn't leave him or her stunned, but refreshes and enriches them in a special way. A strange, yet valuable gem of the Leipzig music scene, the like of which is unlikely to be found anywhere else.”
