The opera dramas ‘Tosca’ and ‘Turandot’ – in brief, but with all the drama intact
‘Tosca’ in 35 minutes and ‘Turandot’ in 30 minutes – it really is possible! The Nikolassee Chamber Choir approaches these two Puccini operas with its usual experimental flair. Choir director and composer Vincent Andreas has distilled the essence of the operas, stripping them down to their core without the grand arias. The dramatic tension of the operas remains palpable, accompanied by a grand piano rather than an orchestra.

Three soloists and the choir share the roles centred on Floria Tosca and Princess Turandot. The ‘short operas’ are framed by original compositions that lead into and link with Puccini’s works.
