Around the World in 14 Films is a cinematic journey around the world and, at the same time, a year-end review of international cinema. As a "festival of festivals," the film festival presents 14 outstanding works of emerging world cinema over ten days, taking visitors around the globe.

The selection reflects the diversity of film art: from South America to Mexico and North America to Africa, through Europe, the Middle East, Iran, India and East Asia to Australia. The program is complemented by special screenings, thematic series, and a German Film of the Year.

All festival entries have previously been discussed and honored at renowned film festivals such as Cannes, Locarno, Rotterdam, San Sebastián, Sundance, Toronto, and Venice.

The films will be shown for the first time in Berlin and will be presented live by artists, directors, actors, and personalities from the worlds of film, culture, the visual arts, theater, and politics.
