Open Monument Day 2026
The Hamburger Bahnhof, built in 1846–47 and converted into a museum, as well as the Rieckhallen—dating from the 1960s and integrated into the museum in 2003–04—are insightful testaments to Berlin’s urban, railway, and museum history. In 2023, the Berlin State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments placed the entire complex under protection.
The guided tour tells the stories of the site and takes visitors through and around the museum, ending in the “Forum,” where the history of the site from 1948 to the present is recounted.
- Free with a valid admission ticket.
- Registration is available via the Museum Service website
