Reading series "Young Jewish Authors" with music
Alexandra Friedmann, born in Gomel/Belarus, lets her protagonist, a son of Jewish CIS immigrants, work in a hospice alongside his studies in »To Die for Beginners or Rafik Shulman's Amazing Journey into Life« (btb). There he meets the terminally ill but incredibly fun-loving Charlotte. The combination confuses him - ever since his father died in Chernobyl, death has always been something not talked about.
A search for meaning begins, as funny as it is profound, which leads him to the wise cantor Golan, to a terrifying Jesus on the cross and finally to himself.
