In *Starkstromzeit*, Aron Boks sets out in search of clues, telling a personal and unusual story of the GDR in the process. He wants to find out what became of the lamps that his grandparents, as self-employed people in the GDR, manufactured in their small company. Aron Boks belongs to a young generation of authors whose writing explores the hidden or overlooked memories and stories of the GDR and East Germany.
