How can a flat sheet of paper be transformed into a three-dimensional work of art? Inspired by selected artworks at the Haus des Papiers museum, you will experiment with paper as a multidimensional material. Through precise cuts and the selective folding up of individual sections, you will create sculptural surfaces, reliefs and surprising textures.
Light, shadow and the spaces in between play a central role in this process. Using simple techniques, you will explore different shapes and three-dimensional effects. The result is a series of individual paper works in which something three-dimensional emerges from a flat surface.
