The French Church in Friedrichstadt got its first organ around 1755, built by Leopold Christian Schmaltz, a Berlin organ builder, on the southern side of the gallery.

In 1906, as part of a church renovation, a new, larger organ was built on the east gallery by the Berlin organ building company Gebrüder Dinse. This organ was rebuilt in 1935 by the Potsdam company Schuke, but along with the entire church fell victim to a bomb attack in 1944.
On September 15, 1985, the new organ in the west gallery was handed over to its intended use by Helmut Werner, Ulrich Schwarzenberg, Armin Zuckerriedel and other employees of the Eule organ building workshop. Since then, it has gained a permanent place in the organ landscape of Berlin and Brandenburg due to its beautiful sound and unique character.
In January/February 2023, the organ was subjected to a general overhaul by the building company Eule.
