Friday or Saturday evening in Charlottenburg: basketball up close and personal
At the Sömmeringhalle, you’ll be sitting right next to the court, in the very hall where ALBA Berlin once made its name. Tickets start at €5; children and young people under 18 get in for free.
Berlin Dreams home games at a glance
The Berlin Dreams’ first men’s team plays in the 1st Regional League North and welcomes opponents from across northern Germany to Charlottenburg. Matches kick off on Fridays or Saturdays in the early evening. A match lasts around two hours: four quarters, a half-time break and enough time in between for a snack and a drink. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you arrive early, you’ll get a seat in the front row.
What makes an evening with the Berlin Dreams so special
• Right in the thick of it rather than far away: during the warm-up, both teams warm up right in front of you. You can hear the calls from the bench and watch every tackle up close.
• A hall steeped in history: The Sömmeringhalle was built in 1965 by the architect Ludwig Leo and is now a listed building. From 1990 to 1997, ALBA Berlin made a name for itself here. Today, it is home to the Berlin Dreams.
• A community, not an anonymous crowd: The Berlin Dreams see themselves first and foremost as an international community, and only then as a basketball club. After the final buzzer, many stay in the hall, clap and strike up conversations.
• Ideal for your first night out at a basketball game: You don’t need to know the rules. You’ll find everything you need to know for your first visit at berlindreams.world/first-game.
• An evening for everyone: Whether you’re with friends, family, your team or colleagues, you only need one ticket for €5. Children under 12 get in for free.
Our tips for your visit
• Turn up early: Doors open about 45 minutes before tip-off, and the best seats go quickly.
• Book your ticket online in advance – it’ll be sent to your mobile as a QR code. At the box office, you can pay in cash or by card.
• Take the U7 to Mierendorffplatz; from there, it’s only about 300 metres. The M27 and X9 buses also stop at the square. We cannot guarantee parking spaces nearby.
• Got a bit of time to spare before the match? Charlottenburg Palace and the River Spree are very close by.
• Are you coming as a group – perhaps with a school class, a club, a company or for a birthday? Please get in touch with us in advance so we can plan the evening together.
• We send out free tickets for home matches in advance via our newsletter.
