Creamcake in the IBB Video Space
It questions how images, words and gestures acquire meaning and power, and invites us to take a critical look at familiar ways of thinking and social systems. The film programme explores the idea that viewing is never neutral.
Four works by four artists each pit a single figure – real or fictional – against a force beyond their control: the state; the crowd; the camera; the institution. Found footage and essay films, allegory and embodiment trace what is remembered and who bears the blame for forgetting.
