Group Exhibition

Running parallel to Berlin Art Week 2026, Poor Traits: Beyond the Image explores how human identity is constructed, staged, concealed, and revealed in today’s society. Moving beyond the traditional portrait and mere physical resemblance, the exhibition examines the psychological facets, personal memories, and cultural masks that shape our self-image in an increasingly digital and fluid world.

The play on words in the exhibition title “Poor Traits”—a reference to the English term “portraits”—brings human imperfection, vulnerability, and inner stories into sharp focus. The exhibition brings together diverse artistic perspectives from photography, painting, sculpture, and video, presenting works by Jens Juul, Vishal Shah, and Jaroslav Drazil, among others.

“Poor Traits: Beyond the Image” invites visitors to look beyond the surface of images and representations and to explore the question of where the line between personal truth and public performance lies.
