But the audience arrives too early and encounters Marianne not in the glory of perfection, but in vulnerability and uncertainty. Although the circumstances are adverse, Marianne holds fast to her dream. In the process, the unfinished becomes the central element: it opens up a space in which longings, hardships, and the complex interweavings of queer identity are explored.
Paul Marianne Furtwängler, born in Munich in 1999, completed a master’s degree in “Expanded Theater” at the HKB Bern in 2025. The program focuses on the intersection of acting, movement, and queer narrative forms.
