With approximately one million objects, the Bauhaus Archive / Museum of Design houses the world’s largest Bauhaus collection.

Very few of these objects have been exhibited to date—but there are a great many digital images of them. What possibilities exist for unearthing unknown treasures from this flood of data?

Artificial intelligence comes to the rescue in the Bauhaus Infinity Archive installation. Every click leads to a new sorting: You draw lines and find the images in which they appear. Or you can have images with a specific color displayed. This is based on the latest research findings on neural networks.

More than 15,699 images—most of them photos, documents, and in some cases internal working images that have never been shown publicly—invite you to explore.

Experience in a striking way just how exciting, vibrant, interactive, and dynamic an archive can be!

Curated Stories

In addition to the seemingly endless image collection, we also present stories from our curators: 14 Years of Bauhaus, The Bauhaus Was Colorful, It’s Not Just a One-Off, and Young and Old.
