On this guided tour, you’ll experience this significant industrial area in transition—evolving into a dynamic hub for science, production, and art.
After an introduction featuring historical photos and background information in the Industriesalon, the tour begins: along the imposing industrial facades, testaments to Berlin’s “Elektropolis,” which once electrified the world. Behind them, you’ll find hidden gems, such as the historic AEG cafeteria. Part of the large cable factory is now repurposed as the modern campus of HTW Berlin.
The tour’s destination is a monument to industrial culture: an impressive multi-story factory, designed for automobile manufacturing by industrial designer Peter Behrens. As the grand finale, enjoy the fantastic Berlin panorama from the high tower terrace.
The tour takes place on Fridays at 2 p.m. through the end of March, and on Fridays at 5 p.m. from April through the end of September.
