BAH – Berliner Aids-Hilfe e.V.

Advice on all issues relating to HIV and AIDS

Berliner Aidshilfe (BAH) is regularly very active in Berlin on World AIDS Day, 1 December, when many volunteers are out and about in the city with donation tins. But the organisation also offers advice services for HIV positive people throughout the year and carries out educational work about HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. Talk of "new AIDS" has found its way into the language of AIDS projects.

Nowadays, with the proper treatment with various drugs, it is possible to achieve a high life expectancy even with an HIV infection. Nonetheless, many of those affected, battle with health and psychological problems, fall through the cracks in the established official channels, or can't find a job. BAH is a good contact point for all these issues and other topics of the LGBTQ+-community. The project also offers an anonymous quick HIV test.
