Surrounded by woods and lakes, Schloss & Gut Liebenberg welcomes you to a Christmas market straight out of a fairy tale. Festively decorated stalls, the sounds of Christmas and the scent of winter delicacies create a particularly atmospheric Advent ambience on the historic castle grounds. Between the castle courtyard and the fieldstone church, you’ll encounter the Snow Queen and the Nutcracker Princess on stilts, whilst storytellers whisk guests of all ages away to fantastical worlds.

At the lovingly decorated market stalls, you’ll discoverhandmade Christmas gifts, arts and crafts, and regional specialities. The estate also has plenty to offer in terms of cuisine: highlights include game products from the estate’s own hunt, such as salami, ham and liver sausage, as well as fresh eggs from the farm. Entertainment is provided by atmospheric concerts in the historic fieldstone church, festive brass bands and impressive fire shows featuring juggling and fire artistry. Children can get creative themselves in the gift workshop and make little Christmas surprises.

The Liebenberg Christmas market is a wonderful destination, particularly for families with children, fans of fairy tales and lovers of traditional Christmas markets. Whilst the little ones meet the Snow Queen or listen to exciting winter fairy tales, adults can explore the arts and crafts on offer and enjoy the special atmosphere of the historic estate. A particular highlight is the evening fire shows, when flames and twinkling lights transform the castle courtyard into an enchanting setting.

Tips for your visit to the Christmas market at Schloss & Gut Liebenberg

Combine your visit to the Christmas market with a trip to the wintry Brandenburg countryside. Liebenberg Castle & Estate is situated around 60 kilometres north of Berlin, nestled in an idyllic landscape of woods and lakes. You can enjoy the tranquillity of nature whilst taking a stroll through the surrounding area. Anyone interested in history should take part in one of the themed guided tours, ‘Our estate then and now’. The tours take place on the second, third and fourth weekends of Advent, at 4 pm each day.

A special tip for families is the charity event on Friday 4 December, featuring the puppet show ‘Puss in Boots’ and a group Christmas carol sing-along.

Opening times and admission prices

• Dates: 28 November to 20 December 2026, on all four Advent weekends (28–29 November, 5–6, 12–13 and 19–20 December)
• Opening hours: Saturdays and Sundays, 12 noon to 7 pm
• Admission: €9; children under 14 accompanied by an adult enter free of charge
• Special event: Friday 4 December 2026, 5 pm to 8 pm – a charity Friday with free admission and a special cultural programme. The regular market stalls will be closed on this day.

We recommend travelling by public transport.

• Regional train: Löwenberg (Mark) station, then continue towards Liebenberg
• Bus: The relevant bus service and the nearest stop to the castle still need to be checked against the 2026 timetable.
• S-Bahn and Underground: No direct connection. To travel from Berlin, take regional transport followed by a connecting journey.
