Volkspark Potsdam
Amusement park
Since the opening for the Federal Garden Show (BUGA) in 2001, Volkspark Potsdam has become one of the most popular leisure parks in the region, offering many options for play and relaxation that make it a fine destination for a day out.
“Please walk on the grass” is the motto at Volkspark Potsdam. Whether for picnicking or a game of Frisbee, you are free to use the well-manicured parkland for your favourite activities. Jogging, bouldering, BMX, or mini golf: whatever your sport, the Volkspark has what you’re looking for. Garden enthusiasts and connoisseurs will also enjoy the 65 hectares full of flowers and plants, especially the 10,000 roses that fill the park with their sweet scent in June.
Culture under the open skies
It’s not just the Potsdam Fireworks Symphony and the International Kite Festival that draw thousands of people to Volkspark Potsdam. More than 100 cultural events per year attract tourists and locals from Berlin and the state of Brandenburg to the park. Workshops, readings, and educational programs for the entire family are also on the programme. And to top it off, Biosphäre Potsdam with its tropical rainforest is also located on the grounds of the Volkspark.
