Relaxed dining with René Frank

The best places for unconventional food

Classic menu structures, starters, main courses, desserts and the distinction between savoury and sweet dishes - star chef René Frank is breaking free from all of these categories. At CODA Berlin, he follows his own culinary path and experiments with creative compositions. Minimalism and a focus on the essentials are his top priorities. The creations are characterised by their patisserie origins and the dessert also serves as inspiration for other dishes.

René Frank combines natural sweetness with intense umami and repeatedly incorporates reminiscences of his southern German homeland . Incidentally, the CODA is also non-conformist when it comes to clothing: Come as you are is the motto, as guests should feel comfortable and concentrate on the enjoyable menu.

Jones Ice Cream is the perfect stop for a stroll through Kreuzberg. The homemade ice cream in extra-long waffles is delicious and the home-baked cookies are great to take away and enjoy at home.
