Cinema Archive – Hall
With the Manfred Stelzer Young Talent Award for Comedy Films, we are celebrating laughter – whilst also asking the question: why do some things we found funny years ago now seem merely odd to us?
The evening begins with a screening of the documentary *Was haben wir gelacht* (Germany 2026), which explores the relationship between humour and social conditions and asks why laughter at women’s expense was so ubiquitous on television in the 1990s and 2000s.
- Maren Kroymann and the filmmakers Eva Müller and Isabel Schneider will provide answers in the discussion that follows.
- Film journalist and author Jenni Zylka will host the evening.
