Closing event
Playing on a continuous loop were ‘Ben Superstar’, featuring Ben Wagin and his media appearances, and ‘Wie gut hat alles angefangen’ (‘How Well It All Began’), a film starring and directed by Ben Wagin, produced by Joachim Schubert. It was not only time that had taken its toll on the ‘Media Tree’: it was the inexorable force of nature. Now the time has come to move the tree into its next phase. The endless loop is playing for the very last time.
In addition, the film ‘Nur kein Feiertag’ is being shown alternately. Hermann Treusch and his text on Germany and the 9 Novembers, originally recited at Ben Wagin’s installation ‘Neunter Elfter’. For this day, Wagin’s work is being reconstructed in an adapted form. For Ben, 9 November also held special significance: on the night of 9 November 1938, a stone struck the window of his bedroom. By a stroke of luck, he was unharmed. The family of his Jewish cousin lived in the semi-detached house next door. She did not survive the Holocaust. Her fate had a decisive influence on Ben Wagin’s works and his life’s work.
