At the Church of St Paul the Apostle

Literature, music, discussions & information: Following four events – all to full houses and enthusiastic audiences – the salon series continues. People want to live – and die – as cheerfully and on their own terms as possible. “That’s it!” breaks the silence.

Beforehand, people give too little thought to their need to say goodbye. The more they engage with this, the more valuable it becomes to have a plan for an emergency – a personalised farewell. For the more freely they approach it, the easier it becomes. They let death into their lives. The theatre comes to an end at some point.

The six-part salon series ‘Jetzt ist Sense!’ – a cheerful and varied evening exploring mortality – continues with its fifth event.

Once again, the line-up of participants changes, apart from the tried-and-tested presenter.

You are warmly invited to join us on Thursday, 12 November 2026, at 7.30 pm.

The venue this time is:

Apostel-Paulus-Kirche (Grunewaldstraße 77 A, 10823 Berlin).

Admission is free; donations are welcome.

Ms zu Kappenstein is the curator of the series.

The event is organised by the Freundeskreis Tina Modotti Archiv e.V., a charitable organisation.

We would like to thank the LOTTO Foundation Berlin for its support.

Performing at the fifth talk with music and readings, ‘Jetzt ist Sense’, are: Sigrid Grajek (host), Alix Dudel & Sebastian Albert (music) and the authors Slavica Klimkowsky, Cornelia Koepsell, Ila Raven and Jutta Rosenkranz. Also appearing as special guests are Dr Susanne Ganepola and Martin Kramer (palliative care).

An anthology entitled ‘Schluss! Aus! Sense!’ has been published to accompany the salon series, edited by Ms zu Kappenstein and Elke Hübener-Lipkau, with illustrations by Antje Püpke.

Please make a note of what is, for the time being, the final event:

Wednesday 9 December 2026, 7.30 pm, at the Lettrétage. Further details will be provided in good time.

Renate Koßmann is responsible for the photographic documentation of the event.
