“Lesung trifft Impro” is a blend of sight-reading and the art of improvisation. For over 15 years now, Dirk Lausch and Thomas Jäkel have been delighting audiences across Germany with this extraordinary format – and that’s something to celebrate!

15 Jahre Lesung trifft Impro - die Künstler
On Saturday 14 November 2026 at 7.30 pm, the artistic duo invites fans, friends, fellow travellers and anyone who’d like to join them to BühnenRausch for their big anniversary show.
One reads, the other improvises!
Just as in the past 15 years, the request to the audience is: please bring along some texts! Voice artist and actor Dirk Lausch reads out anything the audience presents on the spot: a receipt from the bakery or a self-written congratulatory poem, a PhD thesis on ageing, the guest list for a banquet or a biography of King Charles. Impro actor and improvisational poet Thomas Jäkel then puts his own spin on what he’s heard: he reworks the text, composes his own verses, spins the story further and transports the audience to a different setting and a new narrative.
And so ‘Reading Meets Improv’ presents a uniquely spontaneous form of storytelling – unrehearsed and entirely improvised – in which every performance produces new and one-off texts
. Cheerio, here’s to the next 15 years!
