Panel Discussion on Visibility, Community, and Hate Speech on TikTok (in German)
What role do antisemitism, hate speech and a lack of protective measures play? And what is needed to ensure that Jewish perspectives are also represented in the digital space in a visible, diverse and self-determined way?
The panel discussion ‘Jewish in the Feed’ addresses these questions, bringing content creators, experts and the audience together in conversation. The focus is on the personal experiences of people who make Jewish culture visible online, as well as the challenges they face on platforms such as TikTok or Instagram. The discussion centres on the digital public sphere, responsibility, community-building, allyship and the impact of anti-Semitic hostility on the visibility of Jewish perspectives.
How can digital spaces be made safer? What responsibilities do platforms, institutions and users bear? And how can Jewish culture be made more visible online?
