In Marco Wachsmuth’s abstract paintings, proximity and distance shift. What at first appears to be a still life dissolves into the vastness of a landscape. Forms become denser, contours dissolve, and spatial scales shift.

The interim state lies in this limbo: in a provisional order that holds within it various possibilities and can take on a different form with every glance.
