An Image of the Self

Here’s what the children can look forward to:

In the exhibition ‘Vietnam. Art. GDR’, there are loads of exciting pictures and artworks to discover – you’re sure to find something you recognise or that will amaze you!

Using paper and a pencil, you’ll then draw a portrait step by step. This sketch will be placed behind an acrylic sheet, and you’ll trace the outlines onto the sheet using a black marker pen. You’ll then colour in the outlines, either with oil pastels or with a brush and acrylic paints. A motif from the Berlin cityscape is then placed behind the finished portrait, and the two are joined together with colourful adhesive tape. Finally, you’ll take a colourful masterpiece home with you!
