The Musethica session offers a vast learning opportunity for music students. Over five days, they perform up to three concerts a day, usually far removed from traditional concert halls and in front of audiences who, for the most part, have little or no prior exposure to classical music. The concerts take place at venues including the Berlin Juvenile Detention Centre, a workshop for people with disabilities and a socially therapeutic accommodation facility for the homeless.
The primary aim of this training method is to strengthen the music students’ performance skills. During the post-concert discussions, which form an integral part of the Musethica concerts, the musicians often gain new perspectives, both on individual works and on their role as professional musicians.
Anyone interested is warmly invited to the public concert at the Ballhaus Wedding. Admission is free.
