Art, culture, encounters. Kick-off at the Kulturwerkstatt.

In October 2026, the DKB Foundation will open a venue dedicated to art, cultural education, social interaction and public dialogue in Berlin’s newly developing Europacity district.

With the Kulturwerkstatt in the new headquarters of Deutsche Kreditbank AG (DKB) – the DKB Campus – the foundation is establishing a free and diverse programme of activities. This is intended to culturally revitalise the growing neighbourhood.

Where historically established educational venues are lacking, an open space for exchange is now emerging, linking art, social participation and questions about the future of the city. This creative focus is also brought to life visually through the design of the premises by the artist collective TAPE THAT. The Kulturwerkstatt’s programme brings together people of all ages with diverse experiences and perspectives, and invites the wider urban community to play an active and creative role in shaping local life.

With the Kulturwerkstatt, the DKB STIFTUNG is consistently expanding its social engagement within an urban context. Under the guiding principle ‘Two places, one shared idea’, the organisation builds a bridge between the DKB STIFTUNG’s long-standing work at Schloss & Gut Liebenberg in rural Brandenburg and the challenges and opportunities of the capital. The focus is on initiatives relating to sustainability, participation and creative visions that link the two locations. For example, rural material cycles and experiences are incorporated into urban sustainability projects when workshops such as ‘From Jumper to Planet’ use wool from sheep in Liebenberg.

Venue: DKB STIFTUNG Cultural Workshop, Heidestraße 28, 10557 Berlin

Programme:

Tape Art with TAPE THAT

What can you create from a roll of adhesive tape?

Lines, shapes, patterns – and suddenly a whole work of art! To kick off the programme at the Kulturwerkstatt, we’re teaming up with the artist collective TAPE THAT to offer an opportunity to discover, experiment and create. Using colourful adhesive tapes, participants will explore different materials, surfaces and textures to develop their own ideas and works of art. Inspiration is right on the spot: TAPE THAT has designed the Kulturwerkstatt itself using tape art. Whether it’s your first attempts or wild ideas, the focus is on the joy of trying things out and creating together. No prior experience is required.

The event is accessible to people with disabilities and those on the neurodiverse spectrum.

Venue: Kulturwerkstatt

Up to 20 participants; register by 19 October 2026: kulturwerkstatt@dkb.stiftung.de

BLUE MONDAY. Start the week creatively

At Blue Monday, Monday becomes a day for creativity, where we try out a variety of techniques from the worlds of art and craft together. No prior experience is needed – you can simply pop in and join in. In December, cyanotype printing is on the programme. Using light, shadow and various materials, cyanotype printing allows you to create unique images in vibrant shades of blue, resulting in little works of art to take home, give as gifts or keep for yourself.

The event is accessible to people with disabilities and those on the neurodiverse spectrum.

Venue: Kulturwerkstatt

Up to 20 participants; register by 3 December 2026: kulturwerkstatt@dkb.stiftung.de
