The Golden Goose
The first human chain in history. A young lad travels halfway across the fairy-tale kingdom with his wondrous golden goose under his arm, and people cling to it, following him in single file. Is that funny? And will this good-for-nothing manage to make the king’s sad daughter laugh and end up marrying her? Plenty of great material for a farce in true Hexenkessel style. Stepping into the ‘Grimmin’ ring are Vlad Chiriac as the king, who refuses to give his daughter away to some upstart, and veteran actress Carsta Zimmermann in various roles, who will teach the king a lesson with her quick wit.
The Hare and the Hedgehog
The classic par excellence, our very first Grimm tale. This is how the brothers Jacob and Wilhelm taught us to turn their fairy tales into reality through play: with two actors, a stage no bigger than a beer mat, and a great love of literal detail. The original text is as sacred as the Bible and to be taken as seriously as a Shakespearean epic. What’s written there is to be regarded as strict stage directions, even – and especially – when the hare races the hedgehog for a full 73 laps. Who plays the hedgehog woman? And how, pray tell, does one credibly fall for the same cheap trick 73 times? Well, quite simply: with the help of the audience and with the greatest of pleasure – yes, they promise: Grimm-style on the Fairy-Tale Hill!
- For adults only – admission from 14 years of age
