Solo Performance
Through movement, dance, improvisation and elements of the martial arts, a physical language emerges in which strength and sensuality coexist. Inner processes become physical actions, emotions become visible and change can be experienced directly.
Between longing, closeness and loneliness, between connection and separation, an intimate journey unfolds through ambivalence and contradictions.
Although the performer stands alone on stage, she seems constantly to be encountering a counterpart – sometimes a partner, sometimes an adversary. She moves through interstices and transitional states in which the old is already disintegrating, whilst the new has not yet taken on a fixed form.
CYCLES tells of the moments in between: of letting go and holding on, of breaking apart and becoming anew – and of the search for a new balance.
