As part of the town twinning scheme between Berlin and Tel Aviv, Musethica is organising an international concert week in Berlin from 14 to 21 November 2026.

Twelve concerts will take outstanding young musicians to places where people have limited access to

cultural activities: these include the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, a day centre for homeless women and workshops for people with disabilities.

The project combines artistic training with cultural participation and intercultural exchange. The concerts are deliberately held not only in established concert halls, but directly within social and medical facilities.

The participating musicians, who are of Israeli origin, are currently studying in Berlin, Basel and Zurich.

The Musethica Session offers them the opportunity to work intensively on their interpretative skills whilst further developing their performance practice. A key component of the Musethica format is direct interaction with the audience: following

the concerts, there are post-concert discussions in which musicians and audience members

engage with one another.

The Berlin concert week is part of an international project that also includes a Musethica session in Tel Aviv. The artistic direction of both concert weeks

is Avri Levitan, violist, co-founder and artistic director of Musethica.

Levitan was born in Tel Aviv and now lives in Berlin and Vienna. As a musician and tutor, he also links the two concert weeks through his own life story.

In addition to the performances at social care institutions, the programme also features three public concerts. Anyone interested is warmly invited; admission is free.
