Portraits! Surprising encounters from Botticelli to Lempicka
The Picture Gallery invites you to the exhibition opening.
This major special exhibition invites you on a fascinating journey through the art of portraiture. How did people want to be seen at different times – and how do they see themselves?
Unusual juxtapositions of around 90 masterpieces spanning six centuries reveal astonishing similarities and bring the subjects to life in a new way.
