Ach so! Neue Musik einfach verstehen

Can chance create music? It plays a surprisingly important role in contemporary music. One of the best-known pioneers of this idea was John Cage. Among other things, he used coin tosses to determine notes, rhythms and silences. In his series of works entitled ‘Variations’, lines, dots and circles on transparent sheets, amongst other things, serve as the starting point for ever-changing musical events.

This concert offers a fascinating and vivid experience of how seemingly random decisions give rise to captivating sounds. But it’s not just about listening: together with the musicians, the audience and chance itself create a new, unique piece of music.

A playful family concert for curious explorers aged 5 and over.
