Klangwerkstatt Berlin 2026

With *For Philip Guston*, Morton Feldman created one of the most extraordinary works in the history of music in 1984: a composition lasting around four hours for flute, piano/celesta and percussion, dedicated to the painter Philip Guston.

The two artists were bound by a close friendship for decades, which ultimately broke down due to their differing artistic views. It was only after Guston’s death that Feldman conceived this musical tribute.
