Feminist walking tour through the Nordkiez

In Friedrichshain, memorial plaques, street names and individual places recall women from history. But why do some stories remain visible while others are hardly passed on?

This two-hour guided tour through the Nordkiez explores exactly that question. Together, we visit well-known and unassuming places and look at women whose lives have been handed down in very different ways: through personal memories, archives, works of art or only a few surviving traces.

The tour combines local history with the question of how memory is made and who decides which stories remain visible today.

Instead of famous figures, it focuses on women who were closely tied to the neighbourhood and whose biographies offer new perspectives on Friedrichshain.

The tour is for anyone who wants to get to know the district beyond the familiar narratives. No prior knowledge is required.
