Everyone needs water; access to clean drinking water is a human right, yet more than 800 million people worldwide are denied it. As water is a vital resource, there is a great deal of money to be made from it. And these deals are often particularly shady.

The first RundfunkchorLounge of the 26/27 season therefore sets out to explore the role of water as a resource in business and politics.
Water, Words and Choral Sound at Heimathafen
Out of the concert hall and into society – that is the motto as the Rundfunkchor Berlin welcomes you to Heimathafen Neukölln, for music and politics are inextricably linked.
The musical programme, curated by Principal Conductor Gijs Leenaars, will revolve around the theme of water, as will the accompanying expert discussions, featuring pieces such as Brahms’s setting of the text ‘Es rinnen die Wasser Tag und Nacht’.
Among the panellists is Dr Laura von Vittorelli. She is a senior researcher in environmental law and governance at the Öko-Institut and has expertise in national and European water law as well as water policy. Following the main musical and thematic programme, we warmly invite you to round off the evening at the bar of the Heimathafen Neukölln with some cosy lounge music.
