Oren Ambarchi pres. Cooked (Album Launch / Listening Session)

silent green is delighted to present an exclusive listening session and album launch event at the Betonhalle on Thursday 24 September. The evening will also feature a discussion with Ambarchi and music critic Peter Margasak about the background and creation of the album, as well as a screening of the film *Sleight Of Hand*, directed by Maximilien Luc Proctor.

“Anyone who has delved deeper into Oren Ambarchi’s three-figure discography will know that, alongside hypnotic minimalism, strands of non-conformist and joyfully idiosyncratic exploration are deeply rooted within it. *Cooked* marks a milestone in Oren Ambarchi’s oeuvre and places this wonderfully eccentric attitude at the heart of his most prominent solo work to date. In the finest Ambarchi tradition of carefully constructed all-star studio jams – which reached new heights with *Shebang*, his 2022 debut released on Drag City – *Cooked* brings together musicians from Australia, Germany, Japan and Sweden. Together, they create two epics, each filling a side of the record, that have your foot tapping incessantly whilst your mind is still trying to make sense of what you’re hearing.

It’s definitely ‘Cooked’ but not ‘overcooked’. Like 10cc in their heyday, the album uses sophisticated studio techniques to layer a dizzying array of elements on top of one another, yet remains open, spontaneous and intuitive.
