International Short Film Festival Berlin – SPECIALS
In January 2027, the European Film Awards will be held in South-Eastern Europe for the first time: the 39th edition will take place in Athens. The European Short Film category is organised by the European Film Academy in collaboration with a network of European film festivals. Each participating festival selects one short film, resulting in a shortlist of 31 films in total. From this selection, the participating festivals jointly nominate five films. The members of the European Film Academy then vote to decide the winning film.

The five finalists for the 2027 European Short Film Award will be presented at INTERFILM to both the members of the European Film Academy and to you, the audience.
