Step inside the Hôtel des Autrices. Choose your room. For three days, ten female poets — five from Berlin, five from Québec — have taken up residence in the rooms of the Hôtel des Autrices: a bilingual digital literary platform where hand-readers, corridor ghosts, a stubborn pianist, black holes and oceans coexist.
Each has developed her own project, inhabiting a particular corner of this imaginary hotel, making its rooms, characters and found objects her own. Tonight, the doors open.
The audience is invited to navigate their worlds together — live, collectively, just as one might play a video game together: a floor plan of the hotel will be projected; you choose where to go; the authors read, perform and reveal what they have created.
The evening does not follow a predetermined path — it unfolds to the rhythm of decisions, surprises and encounters between the Berlin and Québec voices.
The ‘Play Through’ is a completely new format for literary engagement, born out of the conviction that literature can be a collective, participatory and playful experience.
The evening will be streamed live on Twitch.
