To mark the city-wide day of action against food waste, the Berliner Tafel invites you to take a look behind the scenes at its logistics centre with Sabine Werth.

Since 1993, the Berliner Tafel has been supporting people affected by poverty and social organisations with salvaged food.

What began as an initiative by a women’s group has grown significantly over the years: today, the Berliner Tafel rescues 830 tonnes of food every month.

This is distributed to 400 social organisations and to people affected by poverty via the 48 LAIB and SEELE distribution points.

During our behind-the-scenes tour, you can look forward to an exclusive guided tour of the logistics centre – the heart of the Berliner Tafel – with Sabine Werth, the organisation’s founder and chairwoman. This will be followed by an open Q&A session.

30 September 2026, 1.00–2.00 pm

Followed by a Q&A session: 2.00–2.30 pm

Registration required at pr@berliner-tafel.de
