Pankow's twin city Rivne - Personal accounts of everyday life during the war

The result was twelve personal portraits of residents of the twin town who, despite the daily threat, go about their daily lives and are committed to the local community, including teachers, nurses and civil society activists. Also included were businesspeople, historians, museum and theatre directors, and representatives of the Jewish community.

The exhibition centres on large-format photographic portraits by the photographer Anna Mischuk and film portraits of the interviewees, who recount their daily lives during the war. Further multimedia stations and a chronicle of Rivne’s history provide information on the German occupation from 1941 to 1944 and the current town twinning between Berlin-Pankow and Rivne.

Through this exhibition, the Pankow Museum aims to provide information about the history of its twin town and to raise awareness of the current situation facing its residents since the Russian war of aggression.

The exhibition is designed as a travelling exhibition.

The Berlin Pankow–Rivne Twinning Association and the Pankow district are actively seeking to organise practical aid for the twin town of Rivne and to engage in a joint cultural exchange.
