to celebrate cinema and film culture in all its facets with selected film screenings, international guests, talks, live music and social gatherings. The full programme for MUBI FEST Berlin will be published on 10 September.

The second edition of MUBI FEST Berlin opens with the Berlin premiere of Lukas Dhont’s *COWARD*. The director and the lead actors, Emmanuel Macchia and Valentin Campagne – who won Best Actor awards at Cannes – will present the film in person at MUBI FEST Berlin.

Other highlights include recent Cannes hits, such as the Queer Palm winner TEENAGE SEX AND DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA by Jane Schoenbrun, as well as Na Hong-jin’s sci-fi action spectacle HOPE.

The programme is rounded off by Na Hong-jin’s acclaimed horror film *THE WAILING* – a special highlight for genre fans as part of a double bill featuring the director’s work.

The audience festival will also be screening a hand-picked selection of special films, including Markus Schleinzer’s historical drama ROSE – which won the Silver Bear at this year’s Berlinale – starring a once again magnificent Sandra Hüller in the lead role; the Sundance award-winning documentary NUISANCE BEAR by Gabriela Osio Vanden and Jack Weisman; and the dazzling, video-game-like animated film BOUCHRA by Orian Barki and Meriem Bennani.

The diverse MUBI FEST Berlin programme is rounded off with, amongst other things, captivating short films from the MUBI series BRIEF ENCOUNTERS, in which some of the most promising and established directors of our time demonstrate that cinematic greatness is not a question of film length.
