Explore thatched-roof houses, have a go at using a flail or grind grain by hand: this way, you can experience first-hand what everyday life was like for the rural population in this region around the year 1200!
Who were the farmers of that time? Where did they come from? The findings from archaeological excavations reveal who lived along the Havel and Spree rivers in the Middle Ages, how community life changed during that period, and why that was the case.
The guided tour is part of the ‘Magical, Autumnal, Colourful’ holiday programme. It shows why autumn was so important to rural life 800 years ago.
