Expert-led tour of the art gallery with curator Dr. Alexandra Nina Engel, SPSG
At the end of October, the summer season usually draws to a close and the Sanssouci Picture Gallery closes its doors for the winter.
As part of this special guided tour, interested visitors have the unique opportunity to be given an exclusive tour of Frederick II’s gallery – which is normally already in hibernation – by curator Dr Alexandra Nina Engel.
The special guided tour provides an insight into the history and architecture of the oldest surviving gallery building in Germany and explains how the king managed to build up one of Europe’s most significant collections of paintings in such a short space of time.
