As one of the world’s leading oud virtuosos and curator of the Arabic Music Days, Naseer Shamma has had close ties with the Pierre Boulez Saal for many years. Just a few weeks after it opened, he made his debut here in April 2017 with an unforgettable solo recital.

As part of the West-Eastern Divan Festival, the Iraqi musician will now perform traditional and new works together with an ensemble of outstanding colleagues.
He will then be performing as a soloist again next spring.
