Poetry consists of words and also of non-words. Of rhythms, but also of anti-rhythms, of empty spaces and of filled-in meanings. You can write a poem, but you can also sing it, tear it apart, erase it, shorten it, rearrange it… To what extent?

Are there limits to what you can and cannot do in poetry? Are there forms that are permitted and others that are not? Are forms merely spaces for experimentation and freedom, or do they also enable the creation of new kinds of experience? Why is a boundary pushed: What is the goal?
This event invites authors who write in trans- and interdisciplinary ways.
Mara Genschel is a German poet who works with sound poetry and performance. Jose F. A. Oliver is a poet of Baden and Andalusian heritage who explores the boundaries of poetic speech through neo-avant-garde textual fields. Carlos Soto Román is a Chilean poet, translator, and pharmacist who is currently participating in the DAAD Berlin Artists-in-Residence Program and works at the intersection of conceptual poetry and documentary literature. The event will be moderated by Felipe Sáez Riquelme, a poet, performer, and editor at Siesta-Verlag.
