Berlin-Karlshorst Museum: The Challenges of Building a Collection

The discussion will focus on how political changes and shifts in historical narratives are reflected in the museum and how historical narratives—especially since Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine—have become contested arenas.

The focus will be on the role of political education when cultures of remembrance themselves become part of current conflicts, as well as on how to address a contemporary war without downplaying historical responsibility.
