Architectural tours of the State Institute for Music Research
With a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, the neighbors of the Kulturforum are once again inviting visitors to enjoy a day in the great outdoors in 2026. This year, the focus is on architecture.

The SIM is offering two guided tours of its building, designed by Edgar Wisniewski based on sketches by Hans Scharoun. The tours begin at 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Musical Instrument Museum and end on the SIM’s rooftop terrace.
After exploring the building—which is primarily dedicated to theoretical reflection on music—the focus shifts to a hands-on experience with a musical tradition deeply rooted in nature: yodeling.
