September 12 & 13 - Free admission and program

The Spandau Citadel is one of the most significant and best-preserved Renaissance fortresses in Europe. It was built on a site that had already been fortified in the Middle Ages. Today, it serves as a cultural hub and a historical enclave.

As part of the “werkstatt denkmal” project, students explored the complex and discussed its significance. They present their perspective in a film they created themselves.

As a special highlight this year, visitors can experience military history with reenactors, regiments, and cannons, as well as historical children’s games.
