Interpersonal relationships become increasingly relevant during phases of upheaval and development. We ourselves are currently at a point where we are experiencing this firsthand. In both friendships and romantic relationships, we find ourselves confronted with a new intensity. Relationships seem more multifaceted. This experience served as the starting point for the creation of our first self-choreographed piece, *zwischenkörpern*.

In our duet, we examine various states of interpersonal relationships and explore the emotions within them. Starting from a shared breath—a place of security—a spiral of emotions unfolds through the space. Within it, we experience joy, exhaustion, and conflict; we try to understand one another and find mutual support. Since people are repeatedly confronted with their emotions and how they change throughout their lives, our piece can be viewed as an ongoing cycle.

“zwischenkörpern” is a structured form of contact improvisation in which our bodies are in constant dialogue. It consists of defined elements and qualities, yet also offers space for moments of improvisation. Our duet is thus repeatable and yet unique each time. Especially now, in the face of social division, interpersonal relationships are becoming increasingly important to us—not only on a personal level but also in social contexts. It is therefore important to us to find an open way of relating to one another, to engage in dialogue, and to be able to trust in the human connection.
