When the powder magazine exploded in 1813, the entire town of Spandau was shaken. The “Königin” bastion of the citadel was severely damaged and was rebuilt beginning in 1821. This event—but especially the manufacture and loading of projectiles—is the subject of the one-hour lecture held at this historic site.
The exhibition hall was built with funding from the local history association and is now open to the public only during lectures or as part of guided tours.
